ZNU reported on the implementation of the MultiEd project during National Erasmus+ Office preventive monitoring
On June 15, a preventive monitoring was conducted online under the leadership of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine team – Svitlana Shytikova, Erasmus Project Coordinator, Zhanna Talanova, Analytical Expert, Ivana Atamanchuk, Project Monitoring Expert and Veronika Tkachenko, Administrative Expert. Ukrainian partners participated in the monitoring mission were representatives Zaporizhzhia National University, Mykolaiiv National University, Cherkasy National University, Poltava National Pedagogical University, Kharkiv National University, Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages, Ternopil National Pedagogical University, Precarpathian National University, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and All-Ukrainian Association of English Teachers "TESOL - Ukraine". The purpose of the monitoring was to check the project implementation process, achieved results, and provide recommendations for further cooperation. Given the recommendations and requirements of the ЕАСЕА for the monitoring of NEOs and the need for it to be conducted online, the partners sent their presentations for preliminary study, and during the online session they were discussed.
At the beginning of the online monitoring meeting, the floor was given to the rectors and vice-rectors of Ukrainian universities, who outlined the main achievements of the project in the context of the internationalization strategy. In particular, Vice-Rector for Research at Zaporizhzhia National University, Doctor of History, Professor Gennady Vasylchuk said that internationalization is an integral part of ZNU development strategy and project activities will contribute to its successful implementation. Gennady Mykolaiovych, who is the Head of the project group, in answer to the questions of the monitoring manager of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine, said that the ZNU project team works in harmony, receives the necessary support from management, so there are no problems with the project at this stage.
The next stage was the report of the project coordinator of the University of Tartu (Estonia), Oleksandra Golovko, project coordinators and managers from Ukrainian universities. Oleksandra Golovko analyzed the activities of all partners according to the work package
s and summarized the main achievements and problematic aspects. SvitlanaZapolskykh, Head of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation, and Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova, Vice Dean for International Affairs of Faculty of Journalism, Associate Professor of Journalism, accordingly MultiEd coordinator and Manager from ZNU, noted that the project is being implemented according to the plan. Theproject team has been created, project page has been designed, students of the Faculty of foreign languages have been surveyed on the quality of educational programs and multilingualism, advanced training courses "Curriculum Development Design" and "CLIL Methodology" for Ukrainian partners have been launched on the platform of the University of Tartu. Team members took an active part in the analysis of the basic courses of the program and gain experience in using the latest teaching methods, got acquainted with the modern requirements for compiling course programs.
Next on the agenda was a discu
ssion of financial issues, which were attended by all representatives of Ukrainian partners, including ZNU, Oksana Aristova, Chief Accountant, VadymVoronkov, and Chairman of the Tender Committee, who expressed their readiness to hold a tender and purchase equipment for all Ukrainian partners.
The final stage of monitoring was the discussion of the specifics of concluding new courses with the project executors. Maryna Zaluzhna, Associate Professor of English Department, spoke on behalf of ZNU and said that the team has already developed courses "Information Media Literacy and Critical Thinking" and "Academic Writing". However, there are some staffing and institutional difficulties that need assistance from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In response to the stated problems, representatives of the Analytics, Funding and International Relations Expert Group of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine – Head of the Expert GroupOleksandrSmyrnov and State Expert at KaterynaSuprun –promised comprehensive support and consulting to Ukrainian universities.
In general, the atmosphere of preventive monitoring was friendly and favorable, which gave Ukrainian partners the opportunity to heed the advice of the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine, identify shortcomings in the project, constructively analyze them and identify ways for further cooperation.
