Intriguing and interesting there was the draw of the cup of ZNU Open superiority on basketball among men, devoted to the Victory Day. Teams of ZNU, ZDIA, ZNTU and Berdyansk state pedagogical university took part in competitions. Tournament was on May, 6-8th on circular system.
At the first day, after solemn opening, our basketball players met the Berdyansk team. Students of ZNU got in the first quarter advantage in 10 points - 23:13. And though during the match this advantage was wasted a little, as the result our team won with the same difference - 62:52.
Next day basketball players of ZNU in not less intense duel with ZDIA won with the score 71:62.
At the third day of competitions students of ZNU won the final duel in which ZNU met with ZNTU and became the winners of the tournament with the score 95:80. The second place, accordingly, took basketball players of ZNTU, and bronze was given to ZDIA.
"The best player" of the tournament, under the decision of judges, became Dmytry Sorokin (BDPU), and "the Best full-back" was the player of our team Olexandr Gorbulya.
It is necessary to note the fans support of ZNU team which also brought the powerful contribution to this victory. Organizers of the competitions assure, that they will add maximum of efforts to hold this tournament next year.
