On April 22-24 the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Social Communications of the Modern World" take place in Zaporizhzhya. The conference is organized by Zaporizhzhya National University, Classical Private University and the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and supported by the International Renaissance Foundation and the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv.
«Today almost all top-figures of Ukrainian journalism came to ZNU», - said the Journalism Department Dean Professor Volodymyr Manakin at the conference opening. Among them were: Honored Journalist of Ukraine, professor of Ivan Franko Lviv National University Vasyl Lyzanchuk, professors of the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Volodymyr Rizun, Nataliya Sydorenko, President of the Academy of Ukrainian Press Valeriy Ivanov, professor of Kyiv International University Olexandr Kholod, professor of the Academy of Ukrainian Publishing Nadiya Zelinska, professors Igor Lubkovych, Yuriy Finkler, and others. There were more than thirty professors, doctors of science presented at the conference. 
Before the conference opening the professors met with Zaporizhzhya journalists at the press-conference devoted to discussing the modern situation at the media market in Ukraine.
There was no free spot at the conference plenary session room - there were many people interested in the conference topic. 
«The problem is that our scientific sphere is very young», - such tendency was expressed by prof. Volodymyr Rizun. After the plenary discussion the conference work was continued at the sections.
