The two-days International Conference Energetically Effective Universities supported by the Ukrainian Network of Energetic Innovations «Greencubator» and Association of the Energetically Effective Cities of Ukraine has started its work in ZNU.
The conference is being held in ZNU because the university won in the contest Energetically Effective Universities, which was organized by the Greencubator Network. Zaporizhzhya National University proposed its own program that helps to safe around 2 millions hryvnyas per year. 
While the conference opening the Rector Sergiy Tymchenko said that ZNU is going to prepare specialists majoring in the sphere of the house hold services, and also will open the scientific research laboratory, which will work on the problems of the energy saving.
The Acting Mayor of Zaporizhzhya, ZNU alumnus Vladimir Kaltsev supported this idea and said that other universities should take ZNU's experience into consideration.
