The academic department pays great attention to research work. All teachers, young scholars and applicants who constantly improve their professional level, pedagogical skills, scientific qualification always participate in it. The department organizes students’ research work, which is an integral part of the educational process and research work, performed as extracurricular activities. Faculty members’ daily work on improving the methodological base, developing and implementation of scientific products, constant monitoring of educational Ukrainian and world news, the latest changes in legislation in the field of economics, management, accounting, analysis, audit, control and taxation of business entities, usage of modern software products, as well as academicians’ high professional level is a guarantee for the graduation of qualified bachelors and masters in accounting and taxation. Department’s graduates during traineeships and undergraduate practice at enterprises, budget organizations and banking institutions receive high marks and accolades from practitioners. It facilitates job placement and ensures their future, professional and career growth.
The faculty members takes an active part in scientific and practical conferences both at the level of ZNU and at the national and international levels in order to test the results of scientific research. According to the results of scientific research, teachers and members of the department annually publish more than 40 scientific papers, make more than 30 reports at scientific conferences of various levels, including co-authorship with students of the faculty.
Department teachers’ scientific interests involving studies of the theory and methodology of accounting and taxation, accounting management of enterprises of different forms of ownership and activities, the convergence of national accounting systems in the context of globalization, development of information systems in accounting and reporting.
The Department of Accounting and Taxation performs research work "Economic tools for enterprise development management" (2016-2021), state registration number 0114U002657, which aims to summarize and analyze the theoretical provisions and develop accounting and analytical support for management decisions in modern business circumstances.
Scientific seminars and student scientific circles work at the department.
An important indicator of department’s progress is the search for new and dissemination of existing forms of education and research of students and graduate students. Such forms of scientific work include participation of students in the implementation of scientific developments in the areas of the department, the implementation of independent research, writing scientific articles, speeches at scientific conferences and competitions.
It promotes the accumulation and dissemination of knowledge, the development of promising scientific areas, stimulates the creative activity of future professionals. Student scientific circles work effectively under the guidance of the leading teachers of the department.
According to the results of research, works are prepared for the competition of scientific student works, departmental scientific-practical seminars are held, sample reports of students are published in collections of scientific works.
Scientific works of students of the department are marked by awards of all-Ukrainian and regional competitions of scientific works.
Therefore, department’s scientific proactivity helps to attract gifted young students in scientific work.
In the conditions of business development, growth of its types and forms, orientation on the European way of life, the desire of people to have own business becomes an indispensable attribute of modern social and economic development.
