The English Philology Chair was founded in 1957, as a separate subdivision the department started functioning in 1962, and in 1966 it became a significant part of the Faculty of Foreign Philology (former Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology).
The chair staff comprises 15 teachers. Among them, there are 3 Doctors of Science, 9 PhDs in Philology, 1 PhD in Pedagogics, 2 teachers who have completed doctoral research and 1 PhD student.
