The complex scientific theme of the department is "Cognitive and discursive aspects of linguistic units’ function", approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (state registration number 0103U002181). Under the guidance of Professor Alieksieiev A.Ia., Associate Professor Laska I.V., Associate Professor Stulina Ye.V., the Department conducts training of highly qualified specialists within the postgraduate studies on specialty 10.02.05 .- "Romance Languages".

- Regional variation in Spanish.
For the last 5 years, the professors of the Department of Romance Philology and Translation have published more than 100 articles in professional and international publications and participated in a number of International and All-Ukrainian conferences (Kiev, Minsk, Sofia, Odessa, Ostrog, Berdyansk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Lutsk, Kirovograd, Gorlovka, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Poznan).
