The lecturers of the chair develop their scientific research in the following areas:
- Linguodidactics.
- Cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology.
- Structural-semantic and pragmatic properties of language units.
- Linguostylistic techniques in literary texts.
The efforts of the lecturers of the department are focused on constant increase of the quality of teaching of the second foreign language, in particular on the modernization of the study content by augmenting the existing program textbooks with social and cultural material; the introduction of innovative and interactive technologies of teaching, largely by means of teaching manuals (including electronic) in all languages taught by the department.
