The Department of Foreign Languages was established in 1930, the year when the Zaporizhzhya Pedagogical Institute was founded. It was one of the largest departments of the institute in terms of staff providing foreign language instruction for students of all non-linguistic faculties.
Currently the academic staff of the department includes: 11 Candidates of Sciences, among them 7 associate professors, 4 senior lecturers and 11 lecturers.
