The department provides performance of scientific work in such fields: history of Ukraine, archeology, historical geography, history teaching methodology, and basics of professional teaching skills; organizes and manages archaeological and pedagogical practices.
There are such special courses: "Historiography of ancient and modern history of Ukraine", "Foreign historiography of history of Ukraine", "Methodology of historical science", "Quantitative methods in historical researches", "South region of Ukraine in the context of formation of Ukrainian modern nation», “Internet for historians", "Gender discourse in the history of Ukraine", "History of Ukrainian mentalities” and so on.
