Department of contemporary history of Ukraine


Department was established in 1990.

Head of a chair - Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, honored worker of science and technology of Ukraine F.H. Turchenko.

A lot of candidates of historical sciences and associate professors work here. The department provides core courses for students of the Department of History: "History of Ukraine (since 1917)", "History of the USSR", "History of Ukrainian and foreign culture", "Museology", "Topical problems of the history of Ukraine", "Modern historiography of history of Ukraine ", " History of Ukrainian constitutionalism”, “Comparative analysis of world political systems"," Modern information systems and technologies "," Ukraine's foreign policy".

Employees of the department give courses "History of Ukraine" and "History of Ukrainian culture" on a number of ZNU faculties.

Lecturers of the department give special courses on topical issues of Ukraine's history, among them: "Socio-political movement in Ukraine” (XIX - early. XXI century.)", "Formation of Ukrainian nation: history and historiography" and so on. The department provides conducting of museum and archival practice and practice on computers.
