The faculty of Journalism collaborates with higher education institutions and training centers of Ukraine, Poland, France and USA. There are over thirty national and international institutions with which we work together for many years.

Long-term cooperation with Fulbright and Program in Ukraine and NGO IREX:
Former Dean Prof. Volodymyr Manakin and Vice-Dean Katerina Sirinyok-Dolgaryova are alumni of Fulbright Program and University Administration Support Program (IREX). Prof. Manakin visited US universities in 2007-2008 (Fulbright Scholar Program) and 2010 (UASP), Dr. Sirinyok-Dolgaryova conducted research in US universities in 2013-2014 (Fulbright Faculty Development Program) and 2016 (UASP).

2020-2022 – cooperation with Deutsche Welle Akademie and NGO Ukrainian Media and Communication Institute within the Project Journalism Teachers Academy for teacher’s professional development in realm of online teaching tools and techniques.
Among them are international donors, which provided support for the faculty’s projects. Following are some of the projects supported by international organizations US Embassy in Ukraine, British Council, IREX, International Renaissance Foundation and others.
• 2020 – Project: Zuckerberg Galaxy. Media literacy project for schools of Zaporizhzhia region (within Learn2Discern Project by IREX).
• 2019 – Project: Bureau of Investigative and Analytical Journalism. The project aims to teach 80 young journalists from the southeastern part of Ukraine to conduct high-quality analytical and investigative journalism (US Embassy in Ukraine Media Development Fund);
• 2018 – Project: Media Literate and Smart: American and Ukrainian Youth Cooperation. The project aimed at strengthening media literacy and critical thinking skills of students from Ukraine and USA through series of webinars between students of ZNU and Utah State University and Eastern Illinois University; radio program “Unconditionally” and media literacy trainings (US Embassy in Ukraine Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program);
• 2017 – University Administration Support Program UASP (IREX) Alumni Grant in Research Management, sponsor: Carnegie Corporation of New York. Project: Intensive Training Institute in Research Methods for Social Sciences – 5 modules training series for university reseach faculty aimed to enhance their research methods knowledge and skills in area of mass media research. Institute’s focus: media literacy and media culture.
• 2017 – Active Citizens Grant from British Councils in Ukraine for Student Media Festival “Schools’ Media for Civic Development”. Organizing of a festival-contest among Zaporizhzhia high schools’ student mass media aiming on enhancing of engagement the students and internally displaces youth into life of their communities, developing their critical thinking skills and media literacy.
• 2016 – creation of the Southern Ukrainian Center of Media Literacy, sponsor: US Embassy in Kyiv, Media Development Fund – created the media literacy educational resource center, provided series of trainings for students of universities and secondary schools, created the weekly educational program “Media Pro” for Radio Universe.
• 2014 - IREX Alumni Small Grant for Project Smile “Camping Trip to Khortytsya Island for Children from Families Temporarily Displaced from Donbass Region” (Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine).
• 2014 – Creating of student digital TV studio based on ZNU studio “Universe-TV” (US Embassy in Ukraine Media Development Fund),
• 2014 – Equipping of student TV studio (Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for Development of Ukraine Program “Digital Media for Universities”).
