The basic directions of work of the department are scientific researches on a theme “Problems of business communication in modern management”, methodical maintenance of teaching of foreign languages for students of non-linguistic specialties, supervising of the student problem groups:

- “The essence of communication as a universal form of interaction of social actors in the professional environment”. The scientific interest of student problem groups covers the following issues:
Current ways of managing the economic potential of regions; Features of modern business communication; The art of public speaking; Value aspects of business communication in the professional field; Communication culture as a factor in the professionalism of future professionals in various fields of social interaction; Moral problems of modern business communication. The discussion of scientific issues is held in the form of a round-table talk, a seminar, a competition for business projects. Students participating in problem groups take an active part in the annual scientific and practical conferences of Management Faculty.

- Competent approach in teaching intercultural communication in a foreign language;
- Intercultural conflicts;
- Language and globalization;
- Business communication in management;
- Formation of students’ foreign language communicative competence on the basis of Internet technologies.
Over the last 5 years, the teaching staff of the department have published more than 50 articles in professional and international publications and participated in a number of International and All-Ukrainian conferences (Kyiv, Dnepr, Odessa, Lviv, Ostrog, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland). The staff collections of articles are included in the international database: SCOPUS, Copernicus.
