Young scientists of the department are active in scientific competitions.
For example, in the Regional Competition for Gifted Youth in the Field of Science in the nomination "Art History, Architecture and Design" (category "students") in 2022, the winner Anastasia Dymova with scientific work"Development of a series of illustrations on the theme of Ukrainian folklore"(sci.adv. Mykola Potapenko), in 2023 The winner was a master's student Maksim Pєshkov with scientific work"Illustration of the comic book "The Story of a Dead Hero""(sci.adv.: Oleksandr Briantsev), and in 2024 The winner was 4th year undergraduate student Eva Trusova. ( sci.adv.V. Mitkov) with the work “Development of a user application GUAVA”
In the scientific paper competition organized at ZNU in 2023 in the scientific direction "Humanities", a student Anastasia Dymova won with the work “Ukrainian folklore and modern digital art in the project “Ukrainian Bestiary””(scientific supervisor : H. Chemerys).
In 2024 Darya Snezhyk won 3rd place at the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific works "Business Design: Conceptual Solutions" with the project«Design and illustrations for the publication of A. Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express"»(sci.adv.: H. Chemerys). Its organizer is the Faculty of Technology and Business of the State University of Trade and Economics.
2nd year student Darya Cheprasova won the scholarship competition for participation in the Winter School "Days of Ukraine at the University of Ljubljana", where she gave a report.
In ZaporizhzhiaThe National University annually recognizes the winners of the All-Ukrainian Student Research Paper Competition. In 2023, according to the results of the competitive selection Among the works in the specialty "Design", the first degree diploma was awarded to Anastasia Lazorenko (sci.adv.M. Potapenko), Darya Snezhik and Eva Trusova (sci.adv. H. Chemerys), Iryna Babich (sci.adv.M. Potapenko); the second degree diploma was awarded to Darya Samsyka (sci.adv.K. Tarlinska), Darya Vinnyk and Kyrylo Gordienko (sci.adv.O. Briantsev); the third degree diploma was awarded to Sofia Andriyash and Viktoria Belyavtseva (sci.adv.A. Vynogradova).In 2022, majoring in Design victories were won : 1st place – Sofia Dyrzu (sci.adv.G. Briantseva), Serhiy Bandurka (sci.adv.– M. Potapenko); 2nd place – Daria Cheprasova (sci.adv.G. Briantseva), Kyrylo Riznichenko (sci.adv.M. Potapenko), Olga Kharlamova (sci.adv.– A. Rashevska), Marina Spitsya (sci.adv. H. Chemerys); 3rd place – Alina Barylnyk (sci.adv.– A. Rashevska). In 2025 received prizes : 1st place – Iryna Babich (sci.adv.G. Briantseva); 2nd place – Anastasia Lazorenko (sci.adv.O. Briantsev); 3rd place – Daria Cheprasova (sci.adv.G. Briantseva); 3rd place – Maria Almeeva (sci.adv.M. Potapenko).
The department organizes the work of student scientific problem groups: "Digital Design", "Development of creativity and artistic thinking in graphic design" and "Art: problems, prospects, figures".
In particular, to promote and popularize the scientific achievements of students, a student science page of the Department of Design on the academia.edu platform with published conference abstracts and articles, and a page is also maintained in Google Academy with student work
