Educational and methodical activity


The department's academic staff carry out educational and methodological work to update the content of disciplines and develop work programmes and syllabi, create textbooks and methodological recommendations. The department's teachers carry out important methodological work at the university and city levels.

Educational and methodological publications by the academic staff of the Department of Design are available in the institutional repository of ZNU. The Department's lecturers also prepared a non-fiction publication "Art Visionaries and Art Projects in 222 Questions".

The annual scientific and methodological seminar "Methodological and Practical Problems of Professional Training of Actors and Designers"

 (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023), organised jointly with the Department of Acting, is a tradition.

Also in 2019, a roundtable meeting "Improving the quality of design education at Zaporizhzhia National University" was held.

Faculty members of the department conduct educational and methodological trainings and seminars. For example, the Department's academic staff, Associate Professor Hanna Briantseva and Senior Lecturer Oleksandr Briantsev, conduct numerous master classes, including a series of training sessions for teachers of secondary schools, a master class for children held as part of the Library Festival dedicated to Children's Day, and a master class "Flower Blizzard" on the popular Tenerife technique for adults and children from families with IDP status.

In June 2022, on the initiative of Anna Vynohradova, a senior lecturer at the Design Department, who works as a graphic designer with an Estonian international company, a meetup "Practical cases of European graphic design"was held. The meetup was attended by about thirty students. The event was assessed as useful and full of important communication on professional topics, as many practical cases were analysed and many recommendations for professional activities were made.
